Just Start

I want to share my thoughts on starting a project (or whatever) as I recently had a sort of epiphany.

Just a month and a half ago, at the beginning of the new year, I set multiple goals for myself. There are so many projects that I want to complete before the end of the year, hell even before July 1st, yet here I am almost a quarter of the way through and I have yet to make significant progress on any of them.

But why? 🤔

I finally realized that I've been procrastinating on all of these projects because I'm scared of the unknown and more specifically, scared of failure. I was scared of what people might think if I started something and failed. For me, this is strange, because people that know me well, know that I'm not really like this with most things in life, but when it comes to approaching personal projects, I get this way.

I've done some "soul" searching over the past couple of weeks, trying to figure all of this out and I realized through my research that this is a common feeling, go figure 🙃. That's why I wanted to write this post, to share my experience, and to tell others that it is normal. But don't confuse this with me saying that it is ok to keep feeling like this!

You have to realize that, yea its normal, but it doesn't have to be your norm forever, and it most definitely shouldn't keep you from doing the things that you want to do in life. I wish there was some recipe for success, some guide that I could provide, but I simply can't, everyone is different and you have to figure out what will work best for you. There are so many techniques/methodologies out there that there is bound to be one that works for you.

So what am I trying to say? What's the solution?

Well didn't you read the title of the article? It's as simple as just starting.

"Wow, thanks Ameer" - you thinking that sarcastically

Yea yea yea, I know what you're thinking, but really you have to take that first step and start working on whatever project it is. You can't let the fear paralyze you, sure you might fail, but you might also succeed beyond your wildest dreams. Sure people may judge you, but do you really want people like that in your life? No.

So go out there, take that first step and
